Board Members

Domonique Foxworth, President and Founder
Domonique Foxworth is the Founder and President of Baltimore BORN. Domonique is also a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens and an Executive Committee member of the NFL Players Association. Domonique’s job as an Executive Committee Member is to represent and protect the interest of all the players of the National Football League by participating in negotiation sessions with the league’s representatives, and by overseeing and disciplining the agents and financial advisors that serve the players. Prior to joining the Baltimore Ravens, Domonique spent three years with the Denver Broncos and one year with the Atlanta Falcons. In Denver, Domonique led a weekly writing program for high school students at Denver’s Montbello Boys and Girls Club, and played a key role in raising the funds needed to build a teen center in that same neighborhood. He earned his B.A. from the University of Maryland in 2005.

Brandon M. Terry, Vice President
Brandon M. Terry is a PhD candidate in Political Science and African American Studies at Yale University. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University with an AB in Government and African and African American Studies in 2005 and received a Master’s degree in Political Theory Research as the 2005-2006 Michael von Clemm Fellow at Corpus Christi College at the University of Oxford. A native of the Baltimore area, Terry has written for the Huffington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Harvard Crimson, and The Oxford Isis, and provided commentary for Time, The Boston Globe, MTV News, The Nation, and other publications. He has lectured at Oxford, Harvard, Stonehill College, the University of California—Irvine, and various high schools and youth programs. In college and since, he has been an activist and advisor around a host of issues, including HIV/AIDS, the Darfur genocide, and youth violence prevention. Brandon’s academic mentoring work in the Mission Hill housing project in Boston was rewarded with the Benjamin Franklin Foundation’s Creativity Prize in Public Service. He is currently writing his dissertation on political philosophy and the civil rights movement.

Josh Slater, Secretary
Josh Slater is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc. and T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., where he has worked as a Portfolio Manager in the Private Asset Management Group since 2000. Prior to attending graduate school, Josh worked for the U.S. Trust Company for five years. With over a decade of investment management experience in both equity and fixed income investments and asset allocation, Josh manages investments for individuals, families and institutions. Josh’s non-profit investment management experience includes, but is not limited to, the management of funds for organizations such as a retirement home endowment, a museum foundation, an education endowment, and municipality and corporate retirement plans. Josh earned a M.B.A. in Finance from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Business from Skidmore College. Josh is a Registered Investment Advisor and has his Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses.

Barry Gossett, Treasurer
Barry is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Maryland Association of CPA’s. Barry Gossett has worked on an executive level in a number of companies involved with mobile office units and has been involved with real estate and business investment activities of manufactured housing units in Baltimore County. In March of 2007 Barry was appointed by Governor Martin O’Malley to serve on the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the University System of Maryland Foundation and past Chairmen of the University of Maryland College Park Foundation. He formerly served on the board of the New Children’s Hospital (Baltimore), the Managing Board of the Terrapin Club, and the Board of Essex Community College Foundation. He has served as President of the Maryland Manufactured Housing Association, a statewide trade association and is past Chairman of the Board of the Northeast Manufactured Housing Association, a regional trade association.  In June 2004, Governor Robert Ehrlich appointed Barry to the State Prosecutor Selection and Disabilities Commission for a four-year term. He is a member of the Attorney Grievance Commission and has served that Commission in several capacities since 1980.

Frank Bonsal III
Frank Bonsal III is a General Partner at New Markets Venture, which he joined in 2007, where he is focused on early and growth stage investments in education technology and service companies. Frank has spent over twenty-five years advancing efficacy, innovation and productivity in and around education and the knowledge economy. Beginning in 1999, as Partner of Bonsal Capital, and through his role at New Markets, Frank has invested in over fifteen private education companies across the varying stages and sectors of education. For 15 years leading up to his full-time venture capital path, Frank served as teacher, advisor, coach, and administrator to students in private and public middle and high schools throughout the eastern U.S., and with short stints in the United Kingdom and Japan. He has served on numerous panels and committees on the topic of education innovation, investment and productivity and is a former President of the Board of Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. Frank has a M.Ed. and M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire.

Renee M. Christoff
Renee Christoff is a Vice President of T. Rowe Price Group and T. Rowe Price Investment Services where she heads the Corporate Social Responsibility group. Renee’s team focuses on finding effective ways for T. Rowe Price and its associates to connect to the communities in which they work and live. Their areas of focus are: community partnerships, volunteerism, sustainability and philanthropy. Renee comes from a commercial banking background [NationsBank/Bank of America and Citibank] and has past experience in lending, mortgage and private banking, marketing/product development, segmentation strategies and marketing for mergers and acquisitions. One of Renee’s most recent projects included developing a corporate sponsorship between Disney and T. Rowe Price related to financial education for children and their parents. Renee currently serves on the board of Port Discovery Children’s Museum and the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education [MBRT] Achievement Counts Speaker’s Bureau Advisory board where she is also a classroom speaker. Renee earned an M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Baltimore, an M.A. in European History and a B.A. in Foreign Service/International Politics from The Pennsylvania State University.

W. Boulton Dixon
Bo Dixon is a former Headmaster at the McDonough School and has been a member of the Country Day Headmasters Association since 1985. He currently serves as Vice-President of the Board at the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.). Bo has over forty years of experience in education working as a teacher, coach, and headmaster at schools such as the American School in Switzerland, The Columbus Academy, and The Haverford School. Currently, Bo is a Trustee on the board of many great schools and organizations including Cristo Rey School, Hollins University, Rollins-Luetkemeyer Foundation, Middle Grades Partnership, and the Odyssey School. Bo holds a Bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and a Master’s from Temple University.

Amy John
Amy John is the Executive Director of the Baltimore Educational Scholarship Trust (B.E.S.T.), an organization dedicated to academic excellence and opportunity for bright African -American children in Baltimore. Amy has spent over fifteen years supporting B.E.S.T, previously as a member of their Board of Trustees, then as their Director of Development, before assuming the top leadership role with the organization. Amy served as a teacher, Freshman Dean and Head of the Middle School of Beth T’filoh, a Jewish orthodox independent school in Baltimore, prior to her work at B.E.S.T. Under Amy’s leadership, B.E.S.T. has established significant partnerships with key stakeholders in Baltimore around educational access and choice. Amy has a B.A. in History from Denison University.

Timmy Ruppersberger
Timmy Ruppersberger is the President of the Alumni Association at the University of Maryland encouraging fellow graduates to remain active as the school aspires to become one of the country’s top research universities. Timmy practiced law in the field of public finance for 29 years, managing relationships between local governments, state agencies, and private participants in economic and revitalization projects. Timmy has been member of the board of the Baltimore County Public Schools Education Foundation since 1998 and served on the Legislative Committee as a board member of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce. Timmy earned a B.A. in Government and Politics from University of Maryland, College Park and a J.D. at the University of Maryland School of Law.
